Follow the fixes, or let us reword it for the role and download the result.
An applicant tracking system (ATS) turns your resume into structured data before a recruiter sees it. If it can't read a part, that part might as well not exist.

Yes. Choose “ATS score” to check formatting, sections, contact details, bullets and dates on their own. Add a job description when you want a match rate.
Aim for 80 or more. Below 60 usually means a parsing or structure problem worth fixing before you apply. A score is a guide to formatting and keywords, not a promise of an interview.
By fixed rules, the same way every time: six categories (readable text, standard sections, contact details, bullets with results, length, and consistent dates) for the ATS score, plus keyword matching against the job for the match rate. In the match rate, skills listed as requirements count more than nice-to-haves, and every keyword we suggest raises the score once it's in your resume. No AI is involved in scoring, and the score is never adjusted.
It isn't meant to. Tailoring rewords and reorders what is already in your resume, and we list every keyword it added so you can remove any that aren't true. Always read the result before you send it.
No. Your file is deleted as soon as it has been read, and we don't keep its text after your check finishes. A tailored download is kept for 7 days so you can download it, then deleted.
Only for tailoring. The ATS score and job match never use AI. To write your tailored resume with our best AI we send its text to Google's Gemini through a paid account, under which Google doesn't use it to train its models. Free tailoring (our basic AI) is written by a model on our own server; only tailoring with a credit (our best AI) uses Gemini. Each reworded line is also checked by TypeSafe's Jev model, to catch anything your resume doesn't support. Your email, phone number and profile links are removed before anything is sent and put back afterwards.
PDF or Word (DOCX). Word works best for tailoring: we edit your own file, so your layout and fonts stay exactly as they are. Old .doc files need saving as .docx first. Scanned PDFs and resumes made of images are hard for any ATS to read.
